Eunomia to Model Extended Nottingham Heat Network

29th September 2014

Nottingham City Council has commissioned Eunomia to help optimise the commercial potential of the city’s district heat network, which derives most of its power from local combined heat and power incineration.

Eunomia, supported by AMEC, has been commissioned to carry out three studies relating to the London Road Heat Station and the commissioning of a third network line to Eastcroft. The studies will comprise an assessment of the current performance of the Heat Station, a cost benefit model of energy output from the third line, and an investigation of the feasibility of relocating the heat station.

The council’s 2020 energy strategy includes the plan to increase heat capacity by 73%. By reviewing current performance, efficiency, demand, and the value of heat the Eunomia studies will help the city to move towards this ambitious aim.
