Chris Sherrington to Present at CRNS Annual Conference

4th November 2015

Chris Sherrington, Principal Consultant at Eunomia, will be talking about litter and deposit refund schemes (DRS) in Edinburgh.

The event, Community Resources Network Scotland’s Annual Conference and Exhibition is entitled Investing in the Strength of our Sector, and will be held at the Scottish Parliament on Friday 6th November. Chris will be speaking in the afternoon panel discussion considering the pros and cons of a DRS for drinks containers in Scotland, a proposal  for which Eunomia recently undertook a detailed feasibility assessment.

Chris will highlight the potential for tackling litter through implementing a range of item-specific measures, including deposits on drinks containers. Such approaches, as illustrated in Eunomia’s recent ‘Clean Sweep’ report can be fairer, and more cost-effective, than current methods by which litter prevention and removal is funded.

Chris has recently written a number of blog articles about reporting on the composition of litter in Scotland, and the effect on litter of a DRS.
