INEOS BIO Greenhouse Gas Assessment of Waste-to-Ethanol Process

31st July 2014

INEOS BIO approached us to provide an independent assessment of the greenhouse gas performance of their innovative process for converting waste feedstocks into bio-ethanol. We evaluated CO2e savings, for each feedstock, against alternative fuel production systems.

The findings identified the most important areas for process optimisation, and allowed INEOS BIO to tailor the development of their process prior to submission of an application for planning consent for their first facility.

INEOS BIO commissioned a further study to evaluate their updated process, and to investigate performance in respect of Renewable Energy Directive (RED) criteria.
