Our values

Values

Eunomia is a values-driven business. Our aims are:

  1. To be agents of change for the better
  2. To think creatively in a commercial context
  3. To ‘walk the talk’
  4. To inspire each other
  5. To feel good about the work we do

Our Carbon Fund

As a business we operate a Carbon Fund established in 2008 to compensate for our footprint from business emissions. The fund is created by calculating the carbon cost of the tonnes of CO2e emitted by our business operations using the upper non-traded carbon values for policy appraisal produced by BEIS here. We then invest in selected environmental projects with the dual aim of tackling climate change and other environmental issues. This unconventional method to offsetting was developed as we wanted to go above and beyond simply purchasing offsets – particularly as many offsets on the market do not align with what we would deem to be sustainable in the long term.

Since 2014, the funds have been used for tree planting projects in and around the UK, providing keep cups for the 2018 RWM conference, and the installation of water fountains close to our offices in Bristol and Manchester and this year we have sponsored three tree-planting projects led by three UK Eunomia employees.

Science-Based Targets Initiative

Eunomia has signed up to the Science-Based Target Initiative business commitment to pursue efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C, committing to a 50% reduction target by 2030 of absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions from a 2018 base-year, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.

EcoVadis Sustainability Rating

In 2021, we achieved a Silver EcoVadis Sustainability rating, scoring 61 out of 100 – higher than 85% of organisations assessed. We hope to improve this score as we gather more evidence on our sustainability performance. EcoVadis provides a way for organisations to assess their own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) levels and those of their supply chains. To find out more about EcoVadis, click on the icon below.
