Eunomia’s in-house band Dirty Murph & the Kerbside Sorters have released a Christmas single with a twist: the song recasts Santa Claus as the client in a route optimisation project.
Routing Rocking Reindeer, the new Christmas release from the UK’s leading waste and resources themed musical act, considers the service delivery problems Santa might face due to rising populations and consumption levels. As the band are all Eunomia consultants, they know that saving Christmas doesn’t require a miracle – just the careful application of the routing software which Eunomia uses to help councils design waste collection rounds.
Identifying such inefficiencies as Santa’s habit of taking regular sherry breaks and operating a North Pole depot far from centres of population, Routing Rocking Reindeer is four and a half-minutes of classic logistics-themed rock ‘n’ roll. With all the festive trimmings of sleigh bells and a rousing chorus, it’s a sure contender for this year’s Christmas No.1 spot.
Co-writer Peter Jones said:
“If you’ve already bought the waste geek in your life a garden waste bin subscription for Christmas, Routing Rocking Reindeer is competitively priced at 50p and would make the ideal stocking filler – except it is only available as a download.”
You can listen to the song for free before downloading it at the Dirty Murph and the Kerbside Sorters Bandcamp page.
