Members of the London Office were treated to a windy but thrilling round of crazy golf on top of a car park in Stratford.
Birdies Rooftop Crazy Golf includes 9 holes, a bar and a hot dog stand and was the venue for May’s monthly social event. The evening kicked off with a race as Joe Hudson set off to Stratford on his bike and everyone else took the tube. Joe arrived in a close second to find the rest of the attendees at the bar, recovering from the crushing experience of the central line at rush hour.
While the view did not quite match up to the description on their website of a ‘sun-drenched skyline’, the sight of the Olympic park and distant skyscrapers did a good job to hide the fact that we were standing in a car park. The 9 holes were compact but varied and provided a challenge even for Sam – an extremely crazy golfer, who has previously lifted the trophy at the world famous Frontier Economics Mini Golf Tournament.
We tackled the course in two teams, trying to get our money’s worth by taking as many shots as possible. We kept score diligently but unfortunately nobody can remember who won – it definitely wasn’t Sam, honest.
After the golf, we went for a meal in a Mexican restaurant where we enjoyed hearing stories about the Eunomia Weekend Away from the longer-serving members of the team. We all had a great evening and can’t wait for our next social event where we’ll be heading to Wimbledon for Tennis, strawberries and Pimm’s!
