Eunomia’s knowledge of local authority commercial waste services, and the commercial waste sector more widely enable us to provide detailed and credible advice to commercial waste collectors regarding pricing, market opportunities and operational design and management. Our senior staff have experience of operating public and private sector commercial waste businesses, and have contributed to the shaping of policies to promote recycling by SMEs and to improve services for businesses.
We have recently carried out several commercial waste reviews for several local authorities. This work has entailed detailed market analysis, exploring and assessing options for service growth and efficiencies. It has also involved in-depth assessments of costs and revenues to arrive at a model of the service, which provides a robust baseline against which the likely effect of options for change can be assessed.
We have also provided interim management support for a commercial waste operator to aid their transition as they took ownership of a local authority trade waste business, and have helped two business improvement districts to procure trade waste collections on behalf of their members.
We understand the complexities of appraising and valuing services and their market potential. We have conducted valuations of local authority trade waste businesses, but have also been engaged to conduct due diligence on such reports on behalf of potential buyers. We understand the acquisitions market, and the methods that commercial waste operators use to evaluate target businesses.
From the client side, we have conducted successful tenders on behalf of business improvement districts, enabling them to put in waste and recycling services for their levy payers.
