The ‘Waste Regulations Route Map’ is a support tool prepared by Eunomia to help local authorities to assess their compliance with the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011, especially their obligations from January 2015.

The Route Map was commissioned by a working group comprising members of local authority waste networks (coordinated through the Waste Network Chairs), the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), and WRAP (Waste Resource Action Programme).  The document addresses the key questions that local authorities will need to consider when considering whether separate collection of waste is necessary or practicable.

In December 2014 WRAP and Eunomia produced an updated version of the Route Map, addressing minor points of clarification raised regarding the original document.
