Jenny is an industry leader on waste and recycling collection and has played an active role in the significant changes seen across the waste management and recycling sectors in the last 25 years.
Jenny’s experience in the waste collection industry has seen her innovative ideas being put into practice nationally. From implementing Alternating Weekly Collections in local authorities to trialling early food waste collections, and introducing collections to re-use and recycle furniture, her expertise in local authority work extends to running operations and introducing large-scale service changes.
Alongside her hands-on work, Jenny has also undertaken work with WRAP for DEFRA, running trials on increasing food waste yields and research into recycling incentives in two-tier local authority areas, as well as looking at improving recycling rates in hard-to-reach areas. Jenny frequently headlines at conferences and has recently presented on resource management and recycling collections at CIWM events and to Resource London.
Jenny is a Member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and sits on the North West Centre Council.
Before joining Eunomia in May 2018, Jenny previously worked as a Recycling and Waste Collections Technical Adviser for WRAP where she worked on a large number of projects with local authorities, from large-scale procurement projects and full-scale service reviews to improving food waste collections and other smaller recycling initiatives. Prior to this, Jenny worked as the Waste and Cleansing Manager at Lancaster City Council and for both South Northamptonshire Council and Copeland Borough Council in their waste and recycling departments. Jenny has also worked for the private sector as a contract bidder for municipal waste service provision.
Jenny holds an MSc in Wastes Management from the University of Central Lancashire.
