Ian is an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, and an experienced consultant and project manager.
He has a cross-cutting understanding of the impact of best practice procedures and reporting across different environmental sectors, through his background in compliance, audit and methodologies during his 13 years at the business restructuring department at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is trained in ‘Managing Successful Programmes’ (MSP) and a PRINCE2® qualified practitioner.
Ian’s recent work has been wide ranging. He has developed specialised environmental management systems capable of ISO14001 certification for a number of clients, including waste management companies. He has also managed the delivery of energy research reports for Government departments, using techniques designed to allow a creative approach to research under a controlled project framework.
Ian has led a secretariat team supporting local waste planning authorities, conducted waste contract reviews, developed carbon performance data for public sector clients, and carried out scenario financial strength evaluations for waste contractors.
Prior to joining Eunomia in 2008, Ian worked for PwC, managing projects to liquidate books of business for insurance clients. This involved extensive stakeholder management of a wide range of professions (actuarial, legal, accountancy, insolvency practitioner and insurance technical), harnessing these skills to provide a commercially viable outcome for major London Market clients.
Also at PwC, Ian headed a team that developed best practice and risk management procedures for the firm’s insolvency case work in order to remain compliant with FCA and ICAEW requirements.
