Senior Consultant Ann Ballinger is to speak on digestate management at ADBA on Wednesday 1st July.
Ann will be presenting the findings of Eunomia’s report into the costs and benefits of different options for applying digestate produced by the Anaerobic Digestion of food waste to agricultural land in Wales.
Ann will explain the conclusions Eunomia reached regarding the potential for financial cost savings to be achieved through dewatering the digestate under certain circumstances. The use of such techniques can provide financial savings to plant operators provided the digestate liquor is subsequently treated using biological oxidation, if the whole digestate would otherwise need to be transported significant distances, or where the feedstock is diluted down to 10% dry solids during the digestion process.
Ann will be speaking in the session entitled ‘Digestate management – technology and innovation’. The session will be chaired by Dr David Tompkins, Organics Technical Manager, Aqua Enviro. Other panellists include:
- Ray Long, Managing Director, Citadel Environmental Solutions
- Burkhard Meiners, CEO, AgroEnergien GmbH & Co.KG
- Tony Clutten, Process Sales Manager, Huber Technology
